According to the European Commission, Google has denied a genuine choice when it comes to the online shopping, what Google is doing they are directing the customers with their search engine to their own shopping platforms. That’s the reason they have imposed and issued the record-breaking $2.7 Billion fine. They have also stated that additional charges will be imposed if Google doesn’t change their behavior within 90 Days.

Many of the top antitrust officials said about this, one of the official Margrethe Vestager said, “What Google has done is illegal under EU antitrust rules. It denied other companies the chance to compete on the merits and to innovate. And most importantly, it denied European consumers a genuine choice of services and the full benefits of innovation.”

To this Google has replied, “We respectfully disagree with the conclusions announced today. We will review the Commission’s decision in detail as we consider an appeal, and we look forward to continuing to make our case.”
This is one of the biggest fine issued by the European Commission. There are many other settled cases of Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Google, and other. All these can cost a great loss to these big tech giants company and in the future, it can make difficult for these big brands, as per reports.
