The team behind the Digital Disruptors Programme has announced a number of key brands that will be joining the initiative to encourage the next generation of young entrepreneurs to explore the world of digital marketing.

Companies including Snap, Vouchercloud, Awin, Found, Adobe and Boohoo are among the brands confirmed to support the programme, which was launched earlier this year in memory of one of the industry’s leading digital marketers Nicky McShane.

Over the course of three months, the programme will give individuals invaluable direct access to some of the digital and performance marketing industry’s smartest brains and businesses and show them the many options digital provides as a career choice. Lastly and most importantly, it will empower them to think dynamically about the opportunities it brings to everyday lives.

Digital Disruptors is all about harnessing the creativity and innovative thinking that we know already exists out there whilst also giving these young minds direct access to some of the industry’s smartest individuals and businesses,” said Julie York, co-founder of the Digital Disruptors Programme; “The enthusiasm from within our industry to both support and get involved has been overwhelming, and we’re really excited to see how we can grow the programme over the coming years.”

Dragons’ Den Final workshop

In partnership with youth charity The Hebe Foundation, the programme has kicked off with a series of in-house workshops offering inspiring young individuals a number of opportunities. These include hands-on experience of social platforms, lens development, search tactics, mobile commerce, data analysis, influencer marketing and online creativity.

At this year’s PI LIVE, the Digital Disruptors are set to host a ‘Dragons’ Den Final’ workshop where the next generation of digital entrepreneurs will pitch their ideas to the industry’s very own ‘dragons’. The best pitch will win the McShane Young Digital Disruptor Award and the chance to make their project a reality.

“Awin are delighted to be involved in the Digital Disruptors initiative. We are passionate about the skills people can learn, and career opportunities available, within digital marketing,” said Claire Mullen, head of marketing and PR at Awin; “We can’t wait to introduce affiliate marketing to the Digital Disruptors learning programme.”

“We are excited to partner with Digital Disruptor to help young people tap into their talents, realise their potential and explore the opportunities available to them in the future,” commented Snap’s UK general manager Ed Couchman.

“The industry needs bright, creative and enquiring minds and we are delighted to play our part in empowering young people here in the UK.”
